FORMER STUDENT ADDRESSES CULINARY CLASS

Former WBACTC Culinary Arts student, Jonathan Merrick, spoke to Mr. David Joyce's current culinary class about his recent trip to Italy. Merrick, a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America, told the class he traveled throughout Italy to study and experience authentic Italian cuisines. Merrick graduated from WBACTC in 2003.
MASONRY STUDENTS PARTICIPATE IN WORKSHOP

Students in Mr. Anthony Chopyak's Masonry class at WBACTC recently participated in a four day seminar/workshop on concrete countertops. The seminar was presented by renowned area expert, Bart Sacco, of Concrete Texturing Tool and Supply of Dunmore. The seminar consisted of a PowerPoint presentation and classroom instruction, followed by hands-on participation by students. The students then designed and cast a concrete desktop for their instructor, complete with a celestial pattern in theme and color for their project.

Students from Mr. David Vnuk's Building Trades shop at WBACTC constructed a shed to be auctioned off at the upcoming "Home Building Show" at the Kingston Armory. All of the proceeds from the shed will go to the "Make-A-Wish Foundation". This is the third year that the class has been involved in the auction. Past projects include a picnic table and a dog house that were also auctioned off.
