Ornamental Horticulture

The Ornamental Horticulture course involves the study and identification of plants and their culture, plant ecology and pathology, equipment technology, and horticulture production and sales distribution. Students will learn to plan horticulture activities, prepare and plant seed beds, trim shrubs, clean grounds, spray trees and shrubs, and study plant disease problems. Students will also be acquainted with plant and crop development, and the operation and maintenance of greenhouses. Experience will be gained in repairing and maintaining electrically-powered and motor driven equipment, in addition to learning how to plan and execute landscaping operations.
